Sim Me

As if Popomundo wasn't enough, now I just downloaded a free 2 week trial of The Sims Online and I also paid for 3 months worth of game time once my free 2 weeks are over.

Blame the commercials I see ALL the time about Sims Online. Blame the "documentary" on MTV about The Sims that I just saw recently.

Now I am anxiously awaiting my registration code to be sent to me. It should be here sometime today. Until then, I guess I will dive into Sims blogs, Sims message boards and the official Sims site.

I love having obsessions!

Nice Weekend

It was a nice weekend. One of my nieces stayed all weekend and then we took all three of them to see Harry Potter.

I loved this movie but dh was very disappointed. I personally thought it was much better than the last movie but my dh disagrees.

I feel pretty rested now but I still need to back up on working so many odd hours throughout the week and weekend. Easier said than done since I grab whatever hours I can get.

Other than that, nothing new around here. I am downloading the free trial of Sims Online. I bet I wind up buying it before too long. :)

I Want A Freakin' Ipod!!!!!

I REALLY want an Ipod or some other MP3 player for Christmas. I would even take the cheapest one like the Ipod Shuffle at this point.

Here is a recent convo I had with dh about it...

Me: I really want an Ipod, honey!

Dh: Why do you want one so bad, you would never even USE it!

Me: Yes I would!!!

Dh: Okay, where would you use it? You don't go anywhere!

Me: I would use it all the time when I left the house! It would be like my cell phone. I would have it on me EVERYWHERE I go.

Dh: That's the thing, you work from home, you don't ever go anywhere!

Me: I tag along with you to go shopping every Friday and Saturday. Oh and during the summer when we go to the shore I will need it then! Everyone brings their Ipods to the shore!

Dh: So you will use it for a couple hours a week when we run errands, and you will use it a few hours a month during the summer when we go to the shore. Doesn't seem worth it to me.

Me: I want an Ipod!!!

Dh: Hmmmppfff

I will let you know if Santa puts an Ipod under the tree for me!

I had to add another post for today because this can't wait:

So I got bored today and decided to burn my own Hair Band cd. You know, the cheesy but yummy songs from the late 80's early 90's from bands such as Poison, Warrant, Skid Row, Southgang, Trixter, Firehouse. Ok, you know the drill.

I will admit right here, right now, they were the SHIT to me back in the early 90's when I was in Jr High and part of Highschool.

I haven't heard many of these bands/songs since about that time.

Here I am downloading and listening to them and I am cracking up laughing like never before. I mean, I actually LIKED this stuff at one time!

Read this snippet of lyric from the band Southgang, song called "Love Ain't Enough"

"And I built these castle walls, around our precious love. But now I see that the castle's haunted. Ooooooh, I tried to make it better, I gave it all I got, but that don't mean forever."

These bands not only have atrocious lyrics but many times the lead singer is off-key and sounds terrible like Trixter's lead singer, Peter Loran.

Some of them don't sound half bad like Skid Row and in some songs, Southgang.

But damn. I cannot believe I listened to this! I think fans of Neil Diamond get more respect than those of us who listened to these glam bands.

Since I am all about honesty and clearing my conscious about this whole thing I might as well also admit that I not only LISTENED to this stuff, but I also had posters of these bands covering every inch of my walls. AND it doesn't stop there, I subscribed to a magazine called "Metal Edge".

I even used some of my parents' hard earned money to attend my first concert: Slaughter/Firehouse.

I wonder what the youth of today will say their embarrasing tastes were looking back. Britney Spears? Back Street Boys? Ashlee Simpson? Only time will tell.

Baby Got Back!

That is a shot of part of our backyard as it looks today. Beautiful, but all the trees!!! It is every homeowner's nightmare when it comes down to raking. No one on our block rakes their leaves so we haven't yet since all of their leaves would just blow back into our yard. We do need to clean up our yard though because the previous owners NEVER raked and I am NOT kidding when I say there is at least half a foot or higher in some places of "padding" (old leaves and pine needles that have piled up over the years.

The only part of our yard that is not like that is the front yard, the side yard, and the spot in the back yard immediately out of our back door. The rest of the yard is like walking on a blanket.

My husband wants to take those trees down himself to save money, but I plan to save some money so we can have professionals do it for us next year.

Whatever Happened Too...?

Wonder what ever happened to Miss Cleo?

"Harris continues to cash in on the fame of her Miss Cleo character. In 2003, the New York Daily News reported that TV music network Fuse had signed Harris as a spokeswoman. In early 2005, Harris was back on TV as Cleo in advertisements for a used car dealership in Florida, according to the Broward-Palm Beach New Times."

This according to an awesome website called
The Online Compendium of 'What Ever Happened To?' and 'Where Are They Now?'

When we get to that website, plan to spend lots of time there!

TV As A Hobby?

I am bored. I need to find a hobby besides surfing the web and watching tv every waking minute of my day.

I tried to turn off the tv and read my book, but I am just not into this book yet. Might be one of those books that don't start getting good until the middle, or it could be one of those types that don't ever get good.

At least I can watch some Judge Judy to keep me entertained right now.

TV is like some drug. You take it, get real high then the high wears off a minute later and you are desperate for another high. With the TV drug, once the high wears off you turn channels in search of another quick high. This continues all day an night until your eyes can't take it anymore and your brain feels like it is turning to mush.

You go to bed and the whole sickening cycle starts over again.

Off topic note: I deleted my office blog I was barely even keeping it up to date.

| YAY!

Last night I got a nice surprise in my email. About a year or so ago, I completed several surveys for Nielsen Ratings and for that particular set of surveys (I have been doing Nielsen Ratings for years) I was paid $5 for every one I completed. They were supposed to send the total amount in a check form.

Well they decided to give us all gift certificates instead. So in my email was a $25 gift code for! I happily went and ordered a used copy of The Da Vinci Code book and a "used" but never-opened dvd of Oliver Twist (one of my favorites). They should both be here tomorrow! YAY!!!!

In continuation of my entry yesterday: I found an all-female gym in my area that I intend to try out. I am not sure if we can really afford it now, especially since dh would need to get a seperate gym membership at another place. But I printed out the coupon that allows for 3 free days so I can go see what it is about. I dread working out but I need to do it if I wanna get in better shape.

One Day

I found this pic of Leila Arcieri as a wallpaper online and put it as my own computer's wallpaper. Why? Because she is the closest "celeb" that looks like me and since I am trying to lose weight, this might be a little boost for me to keep dieting and to join a gym. Leila is even my exact height and her body type is VERY similar to mine. So if I lost weight, I would look A LOT like her in the body. My husband is gonna love seeing this as our wallpaper! *lol*

Random Babble

I am finished reading "A Mighty Heart", now you can see the book I am currently reading by clicking on the link "Book I Am Reading" link found on the upper right side of this page.

I used to HATE cranberry juice, whether mixed with other juices or not. The last year I've tried different kinds and wow. I really like it! Right now I am drinking Cranberry/Apple juice and it is very good.

So, I had a weird dream last night. Actually I had several weird dreams. One dream I was a cop, another dream I was hanging out with some international reporters and eating hot pizza. Very weird night for dreams.

I have been half off my low-carb lifestyle for the past month but surprisingly, I haven't gained any weight! YAY! I am commited to getting back on the diet wagon though.

I hate the cold. For me, nothing is worse than being cold. I prefer to be hot with a fan blowing in my face.

This will be my first winter here on the east coast. It may not be any different than winter in the mid-west, but then again, the last few winters out here have been brutal according to the news reports the last few years.

Well I have no choice but to live thru it. Grrrr...I mean, brrrrrrr.

Skin So Smooth:Advice From A Hot Stripper
True Story

DH: That stripper's skin is so soft! Go up there and feel.

Me: Ok, hand me some dollar bills.

*Got to the stage and stripper put dollar bill in my mouth and grabbed money with her lady lumps. Then for the second dollar bill she placed bill in my mouth and grabbed money with her thighs.*

Me: Wow! You weren't kidding! Her skin is very soft. Ask her what she does to get her skin so soft next time you go up there.

DH: No, come with me and ask her yourself.

Me: Fine.

*We go back to the stage and after she takes money I ask her how she gets her skin so soft and smooth*

Stripper: Oh, I take lots of baths instead of showers. And I lotion myself all the time. But the main thing is to take baths not showers.

Me: Hmmm. Wow. Thanks!

Fast forward 6 months to now...

My skin is so rough in this weather. I really gotta do something.

I remember what the stripper said so I run a bath and soak while I read my book.

Oh yes, this is the life. I will definitly start taking baths instead of showers more often. I guess I should start shaving my legs a little more often than once every couple of weeks(hey, it's cold one sees my hairy legs!).

Note to self: Take more time to soak in the bath and shave those legs more often!!

No Computer On Friday!!

I have cancelled my work hours on Friday so that I can try to stay off this computer for at least 90% of the day. I might have to log ino the computer for a chat meeting with a friend of mine. But at least I will be offline for the rest of the time.

My sanity thanks me.

Help Me

I am very tired but I just don't wanna go to bed. I don't really know why. It is odd. So I found some good shows to watch on tv like, Airline and Dr G Medical Examiner .

I am also online playing Pogo .

I need a day off work. I have literally been working in one form or another every single day for the past 2 months. I mean not one day off. That is my fault since I work when I want to. But maybe that is why I am breaking down here. I cannot focus on anything for more than 10 min, I feel tired, and I am thisclose to crying at the drop of a hat.

I am my own worst enemy. I just can't seem to pull myself away from this computer and especially work. My Popo character is about to embark on a vacation with her man, but the real me really needs a vacation. Shit.

I gotta think about how I will prevent myself from logging onto the computer for at least one day this weekend. Better yet, I might just take off a day next week depending on how many work hours I can get for the week in total.

I need a big hug. :(

Life As I Know It

We are making beef jerkey with our food dehydrater and it smells wonderful. We bought that thing a few years ago and we go thru spurts of using it all the time and then putting it away for a year or two before we remember it again.

My favorite thing to make is dehydrated apple chips. I literally just slice apples then place the slices in the dehydrator. Sometimes I peel the apple and other times I don't, it just depends on my mood.

My MIL came over to give us some things. She gave us some more space heaters to hold us over until we can afford to buy some heating oil for our oil tank outside.

Things I Need To Do Next Week/Weekend

  1. Mail off two letters
  2. Thoroughly clean the bathroom
  3. Hang up all the clean clothes
  4. Clean up my office

"Why are they playing Christmas music? Shouldn't they be playing Thanksgiving music?"

Uhhh, I cannot even think of ONE Thanksgiving song...where the hell are the grocery store music people gonna find a whole cd of Thanksgiving music?

Oh I am so glad it is finally Friday. This week has been long for some reason. I think I might work for a few hours Saturday night, but I am not too sure yet.

I am just feeling tired and lazy today. Luckily, I have a short work day today. Yay!

The lady next door has had the same clothes hanging from her clothesline for a month now. Thru rain, sun, and frost those clothes continue to hang there.

I wonder when she plans to take them down?

Halloween came and went for me. Didn't pass out candy (I know I am so mean!) and I didn't go to any parties. I did put some horns on my dog and then took at pic: Devil Dog

Then I wore the horns for the remainder of the night.
